The Return of the Ruler

Macro photo of blue butterfly with orange spots a top tiny pink flowers. Shame's stealthy homecoming has pulled my heart under, yet we will fly again.shame

I recognize you

finally

my companion
these months

you have seen
my moments
of fear
regret
delay

as opportunities
to worm back in

stealthy homecoming
the return of the ruler
of my heart

gift from my mother
birthright
I thought I had soared
beyond your reach

I believed my time with butterflies
had been my escape
from you

I believed the Divine
had outshone your greedy hands

yet you pull at my heart
and my heart is pulled under

let’s sit together
one last time
letting tears fall
and pain squeeze through my soul

and tomorrow
we will breathe love
into every ounce of me
and you

so we can fly once more

Your words cut to the core of truth. We think we have overcome only to be brought crumbling down. Yet we are not in the same spot as before. We have moved so yes, we can fly again. Powerful.

I love butterflies and I love your verse about the and how you metaphorically linked that to overcoming shame.

    Totally awesome.

    Infinite Love
